Benevolence Ministry

@ St. Gabriel's

Benevolence is an act of kindness or an inclination to be kind while expecting nothing in return.

St. Gabriel’s has a Benevolence Ministry that offers help to those in the South Hall community with one-time financial needs.  In the past year, we’ve been able to help pay rent, get utilities turned back on, provide gas and groceries, and provide temporary shelter to families and individuals.

While our church is small in number, we do our best to make our limited funds stretch as far as possible to help the most people.  We don’t require that you be a member of St. Gabriel’s to request help, though we do ask that you live in the South Hall area and that you be willing to talk with us about your situation to help us determine if and how we might best be able to assist.

All requests are kept confidential, but we will need to see some form of legal ID.  We are occasionally able to help more than once, but that’s at the discretion of the Benevolence Committee.  We may have the ability to help a person through a rough patch, but we’re not able to provide funding to cover a long-term short-fall.

If you, or someone you know, is in need, please feel free to call the church office Monday through Friday from 9am until 6pm.  We can’t promise someone will be available to answer the phone on the weekend.  And remember that waiting until the last minute to let us know of your need may result in our not being able to help in time.  That said, we’ll do our best!

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
