Foyer Groups

@ St. Gabriel's

What is a Foyer Group?

The Foyer of the church (also known as the “vestibule,” “entrance,” or “lobby”) is one of the first places we see when we enter a church building. It should be warm, inviting, and welcoming.  The foyer is often the place where we first see and greet others as they arrive for church.

Foyer Groups are warm and welcoming, too!  Each group is made up of four couples, singles, or a combination of both who get together for dinner once a month for four months.  Each  couple or single hosts one of the meals.  It’s a chance to get to know each other better in a casual setting.  After the Foyer Group has met four times, members of the group who would like to do so may sign up to be in a new Foyer Group.

How often are new Foyer Groups formed?

New Foyer Groups are usually formed twice per year.  We try to schedule them so as to avoid meeting in December due to busy holiday schedules and other events happening at the church.  Therefore, it’s typical for new groups to form in January and to meet monthly between January and the end of April.  A second set of Foyer Groups would then form to start in August and meet through the end of November.

How do I sign up?

Sign up by calling the church office or by emailing us (see our CONTACT page) and someone will get back in touch to let you know your Foyer Group assignment.
